"Under the microscope, I found that snowflakes were miracles of beauty; and it seemed a shame that this beauty should not be seen and appreciated by others. Every crystal was a masterpiece of design and no one design was ever repeated. when a snowflake melted, that design was forever lost. Just tht much beauty was gone, without leaving any record behind." W.A. Bentley 1925 |

This is the photo of a snowflake Bentley took in a Vermont snowstorm in 1925. He had to stand out side, and place the flake under his microscope before it melted. |
Of the millions of flakes that fell that day, I happened to look at this one with a couple of mirrors and discovered several of the patterns I have used in my woodwork.I feel like this ice crystal was a special gift from the creator to me! |
